This position presents an uncapped opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced account executive to work alongside a small group of seasoned supply chain specialists.  This business development position must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment in new lead generation, bid preparation and customer support for this rapidly growing 3PL focused on parcel distribution and related supply chain services throughout the United States.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Generating leads, developing and managing a pipeline of prospects via existing relationships, telemarketing and direct email marketing;
  • Contacting ‘hot’ leads for new business development and succinctly articulating the Company’s value proposition and gathering, as necessary, data to formulate bids;
  • Leveraging independent vendor network in addition to the Company’s existing network to construct price and service models to meet customer needs;
  • On-going account management.

Such a candidate must possess the following qualities:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment to close and manage client accounts;
  • Telemarketing experience and persistent mindset to engage prospects via telephone;
  • Business development experience in the courier logistics industry including established relationships with qualified prospects for our services;
  • Familiarity with small package, pool and last mile distribution.

In addition, the following qualities are preferred:

  • Knowledge operating within the 3PL industry and, in particular, courier distribution;
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Corporate Headquarters in Los Angeles. Position can work out of home office.

Expak Logistics seeks a high-energy individual with a proven ability to work successfully with and across teams to lead our team in the identification and selection of strategic carrier and vendor partners.  This Manager of Carrier and Vendor Procurement will engage directly with multiple internal teams as well as develop vendor partner relationships for this rapidly growing 3PL focused on parcel distribution and related supply chain services throughout the United States.

 

Essential Functions Include:

 

  • Understand customer’s operational requirements and align such needs with our vendor network.
  • Manage request for pricing process from beginning to end.  This includes but is not limited to, partnering with business development team to develop customized logistics solutions, target carrier and vendor partners to send bids to, analyze results, negotiate rates, and support the implementation and operations teams.
  • Develop and standardize processes for bid development and vendor engagement and procurement to maximize business development opportunities and prospect engagement.
  • Develop strategic relationships with existing and new carrier and vendor partners.  Lead efforts to develop strong relationships at all levels as well as with our internal business development, operations, technology and customer service teams.

 

Such a candidate must possess the following qualities:

 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to demonstrate consistently the ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, subordinates and supervisors in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Passion and drive for exceptional customer service is a must.
  • Strong inter-personal and relationship skills and a proven ability to work successfully with and across teams.
  • Solid quantitative and problem solving skills.  Able to analyze large sets of data, pull out insights then proactively communicate those insights to key constituents.  Able to grasp complex issues and look beyond the obvious.
  • Direct experience in logistics, carrier management, procurement and/or supply chain, including small parcel logistics, truckload, LTL, warehousing and fulfillment.

 

In addition, the following qualities are preferred:

 

  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Generating leads, developing and managing a pipeline of prospects via telemarketing, social marketing campaigns and direct email marketing
  • Contacting ‘hot’ leads for new business development and succinctly articulating the Company’s value proposition and gathering, as necessary, data to formulate bids
  • Leveraging independent vendor network in addition to the Company’s existing network to construct price and service models to meet customer needs
  • On-going customer support and service

A candidate must possess the following qualities:

  • Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills
  • Telemarketing experience and persistent mindset to engage prospects via telephone
  • Experience utilizing digital and social marketing
  • Strong interest in logistics and supply chain industries;
  • Interest in sales and marketing
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with career aspirations.

In addition, the following qualities are preferred:

  • Knowledge operating within the 3PL industry and, in particular, courier distribution
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Four-year Bachelors degree.

Location: West Los Angeles Corporate Headquarters.
